People from various professions have different requirements. So the credit card providers too have designed various types of credit cards for different section of people. Beside the general credit cards, there exists small valued business cards made for small businesses and then there exists student credit cards that are solely designed keeping in mind of the student demands.
Now, the question arises what makes a student credit card different from that of general ones?
There’s not much one can say, since most of the credit cards functions in pretty much the same manner and are accessed for more or less the same purpose. However, there are two fundamental differences between the student credit card and the ones that everybody uses and they are the Credit limit and the APR.
The credit limit for the student credit cards is usually on the lower side. This limit ideally ranges from $200 to $1000 every month. Many people might not agree with such discrimination in terms of credit limit being much low than the normal credit cards. Well, the reason behind this is pretty obvious. Its more likely that majority of the students applying to get access of these credit cards have actually never used a credit card in their entire life; so neither do they possesses a credit rating nor any kind of idea about using credit cards. The former being a criterion that the credit card providers look for before giving away the credit cards, and the latter being what the credit card receiver would like to gain. Thereby, both these purposes are met to the fullest by virtue of offering a lower credit limit. By doing these the credit card providers reduces the risk that they are adopting by sanctioning a credit card to such a client who never had an access to credit cards and thereby has no credit rating. It’s also good for the credit card receiver since this lessens their chances of damage that can be maneuvered by insufficient or zero knowledge of credit cards and also by worse spending habits. In addition to this, this credit limit is considered to be adequate for the requirements of a normal student.
Nextly, the APR listed on the student credit cards is usually a lot higher than that of the one on the usual credit cards. Again the cause behind this is the same as that for disbursing a comparatively lower credit limit i.e. we all have to remember the credit card providers is after all doing their business and has to execute steps to neutralize any possible risks including the risk evolving from granting a credit card to such a person who is a novice in regard of credit cards.
These are the facts that make student credit cards different from those of usual ones.

When your child hits college, they are sure to be bombarded wit millions of offers and good deals that they would not want to miss. Thus, it would be to their very interest to have a students credit card.

It is called a Students Credit Card because it is a slightly different package from other business purpose credit cards. Offered by most of the credit card companies in the current age, stunt credit cards come up with easy-to-understand features, but the overall outcome being the same compared to mainstream credit cards. Students can use this for a variety of their expense, possibly even earn rewards, or cash bonuses using this card.

A student credit card is different from other intricate credit cards because these cards have:
1. lower interest rates
2. no minimum income
3. rarely any obligatory annual fees
4. easy to get one, but unless the student has not encountered credit troubles before
5. lower credit limits initially, but once the student is established, they can have higher limits accordingly.

In this growing age, it is unusual for students to grab a students credit card for themselves. In fact, many credit card company representatives appear in the college campuses and offers freebies or other incentives if any student applies for one.

However, because of these offers and incentives, what most students do is they apply for more than one credit card. Thus, they end up falling under debt. It is quite dangerous for a student o fall under debt just in their college life. It means your children will have a spot in their credit if they fall under debt.

Therefore, to avoid your children do any of such mistakes, help them with a few tips like:
1. telling them to use their credit cards only for necessary purposes
2. ordering them to pay their bills every month and on time, you might even check with the bank if your childrens are doing that properly.
3. explain them very carefully that if they pay less monthly payments, they will be struck with higher interest rates later
4. discourage them about falling under the trap of a freebie or similar incentives
5. teach them some basics of money management, after all, hey are growing up

The benefits of a student credit card if your childrens start handling credit cards, they will be heading towards a more responsible and independent life. If they start money management properly, they can shift to standard credit cards at a later date. Like wise, students can have the opportunity to develop good credit habit and better credit rating even before they graduate college.

Moreover, if your childrens sue their credit cards properly and win rewards, they can manage their own expenses like education, books, groceries and other stuffs. A student credit card is a must for this generation growing childrens as with this, they will start learn how real life goes on.
